Job Description

My client is a global, well-established insurance group in Malaysia. They are now looking for an expertise in accounting and finance internal controls and process governance. Reporting directly to the head of department, you would be involved in supporting and contributing to any governance related activities and continuous process improvements with regards to accounting and reporting global process. You would help to strength compliance, improve process efficiency, and robust internal controls across the organization.

Key responsibilities:

  • Bring fresh perspectives to governance activities, special initiatives, and ongoing process improvements on accounting and finance process
  • Own and govern critical documentation including global risk and control registers, process blueprints, process maps, and standard operating procedures
  • Drive alignment through leading process & control forums, design workshops, reviews, and solution validations
  • Proactively manage internal and external audits from documentation readiness to remediation activities
  • Provide clear, timely updates on milestones via reports, dashboards, and stakeholder communications
  • Partner closely with design and delivery teams to keep processes updated and deliverables on track
  • Ensure local business unit adaptations remain fully aligned with global standards while maintaining compliance and practicality

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ICAEW, etc.) or progress toward one is highly advantageous
  • Background from Big 4 audit firms and/or financial services industry strongly preferred
  • Candidates with internal control/ process management in a financial services industry is highly preferred
  • Hands-on familiarity with Oracle, Coupa, and/or OneStream systems will set you apart
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication to engage diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively under tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated, meticulous, and resourceful team player who steps up when needed
