Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for driving financial excellence Join our team and play a key role in managing and enhancing our financial operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee and manage the full set of accounts, including AP, AR, and GL functions
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules to ensure data integrity
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Team Management

  • Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting team
  • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and guidance
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Oversee vendor payments, invoice processing, and expense management
  • Ensure proper controls and timely settlement of obligations

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Monitor collections, credit control, and aging reports
  • Work closely with retail and operations teams to ensure timely collections and resolve discrepancies

General Ledger (GL)

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of GL entries
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Maintain chart of accounts and accounting policies

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and statutory requirements
  • Ensure timely and accurate e-invoice submission in accordance with LHDN requirement, including validation data, monitoring submission status, resolving rejected submission, maintaining proper documentation, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submission.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls and processes

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems
  • Support system enhancements or ERP implementations
  • Drive efficiency and automation initiatives

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with internal departments (Retail, Merchandising, Operations)
  • Support the Financial Controller in strategic finance initiatives
  • Key Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on experience in an Accounting Manager capacity, preferably in the fashion retail industry.
    • Prior experience in managing a team.
    • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, and GL functions
    • Familiarity with Malaysian tax regulations and MFRS
    • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • Good computer skills in MS Excel and Office 365
    • Experience in using M3 is an added advantage
    • Working location: Menara Hap Seng 3, Jalan P. Ramlee KL, Malaysia
