The Accounting Manager (R2R) is responsible for managing the integrity of financial records, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, supporting statutory compliance, and overseeing complex accounting processes such as consolidations, intercompany reconciliations, and reporting to the parent company. This role provides technical expertise, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and supports strategic decision-making through accurate financial information. The role will be the future lead of the Record to Report team within the broader NCS Australia finance function.
Make an Impact by:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/AASB.
- Ensure timely submission of management reports and statutory filings.
- Provide the interlock role between finance operations and reporting, ensuring completeness of transactions reported into the general ledger from Buy to Pay and Invoice to Cash as well as general ledger journals.
Consolidations & Intercompany:
- Perform group consolidations and ensure compliance with group accounting policies.
- Complete intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Submit accurate group reporting packs to the parent company within deadlines.
Compliance & Governance:
- Maintain knowledge of appropriate and relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Revenue Recognition, Lease Accounting, Intangible Assets.
- Ensure adherence to tax, corporate, and financial reporting obligations, working closely with the Statutory to Tax team members.
Audit Support:
- Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits. Provide documentation and resolve audit queries efficiently and in a planned approach to meet short audit timelines.
Financial Controls:
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to maintain financial integrity (manual journals, adherence to relevant finance authority policies on asset management and expenses)
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
- Support system enhancements and automation initiatives.
- Leverage automation toolsets where possible.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal finance and business teams to provide financial insights.
- Communicate reporting requirements and deadlines effectively to NCS AU, NCS SG and Singtel as required.
Skills for Success:
- At least a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
- Minimum 5+ years experience in financial accounting, consolidations, and statutory reporting with experience of leading a team.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of IFRS/AASB standards.
- Experience with manual financial consolidations, and statutory reporting in Australia.
- Native in data manipulation and process automation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools.
- Experience of ERP transformation and migrations.
Highly Advantageous to Have!
- Skilled in Certinia (previously FinancialForce).
- Power BI capability to build and maintain dashboards
- Data analytics experience using CoPilot or other available AI support tool for process digitization.
