What You'll Do
- Ensure monthly books closing is completed accurately with thorough reconciliations and comprehensive reporting delivered within established deadlines for both Malaysia and Thailand.
- Prepare and submit detailed monthly, quarterly, and yearly actuals as well as forecast analyses and reports to internal stakeholders and external parties as required.
- Assist in reviewing, documenting, and strengthening internal controls to maintain robust financial governance throughout the organisation.
- Support all tax filing processes by ensuring proper documentation and timely submission in accordance with local regulations for both countries.
- Act as a business partner by collaborating with other departments to provide operational support that enhances overall organisational effectiveness.
- Undertake any additional ad hoc tasks or projects as advised by your superior, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to evolving business needs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS standards and local tax frameworks to ensure compliance and best practice application in all accounting activities.
- Leverage experience with Microsoft BC systems or Thailand-specific accounting and tax compliance tools to optimise financial processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external auditors to facilitate smooth audits and resolve any queries promptly.
What You Bring
- Mandatory: Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Banking or equivalent qualification relevant to the role.
- Mandatory: Demonstrate at least five years of proven experience managing full set accounts within the retail or FMCG industry.
- Mandatory: Exhibit good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as local tax frameworks applicable in Malaysia or Thailand.
- Mandatory: Show adaptability by efficiently multitasking and prioritising work within a fast-paced organisational setting.
- Mandatory: Display proactive attitude with hands-on approach towards problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Mandatory: Communicate clearly with excellent interpersonal skills that foster collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
- Nice to Have: Audit background which provides added value through enhanced understanding of compliance requirements.
