Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable / Credit Control Executive is responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable portfolio, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, monitoring customer credit exposure, and maintaining accurate customer account records. The role plays a key part in optimizing cash flow and minimizing bad debt risk while maintaining positive customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Management
Generate and issue customer invoices, debit notes, and credit notes accurately and timely.
Ensure all customer receipts are properly recorded and allocated.
Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Prepare monthly accounts receivable aging reports.
Monitor overdue balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
Credit Control
Conduct regular collection activities through phone calls, emails, and customer visits where necessary.
Monitor customer credit limits and payment trends.
Review and recommend customer credit applications and credit limit revisions.
Escalate high-risk accounts and collection issues to management.
Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve payment disputes.
Cash Flow & Reporting
Provide weekly and monthly collection forecasts.
Track collection performance against targets.
Assist in cash flow planning by providing expected collection schedules.
Prepare AR-related reports and analysis for management review.
Compliance & Internal Control
Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
Maintain proper documentation for customer accounts and collection activities.
Support internal and external audits by providing required AR documentation.
Assist in process improvement initiatives to strengthen credit control and collection efficiency.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, or Finance.
Experience in HVAC or multinational companies is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of accounting principles and AR processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, AutoCount).
Experience preparing aging reports and collection forecasts.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Customer-focused while maintaining firm credit control discipline.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
Collection target achievement.
Overdue debt percentage.
Bad debt provision/write-off levels.
Timeliness and accuracy of AR reconciliations.
Customer dispute resolution turnaround time.
