Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and technically proficient Service Engineer to join our overseas after-sales team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will provide on-site and remote technical support for our solar PV and energy storage systems across Malaysia and the Southeast Asia region. You will be responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and delivering technical training to customers and partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and system performance .
Key Responsibilities
Technical Service & Support
- Perform on-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair activities for solar PV systems .
- Conduct preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to ensure optimal system performance .
- Provide remote technical support to customers and partners through telephone, email, and online platforms .
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to PV inverters, energy storage systems (ESS), and associated balance-of-system components .
Customer Training & Technical Enablement
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs on inverter installation, operation, and maintenance for distributors, installers, and end-users .
- Develop and maintain training materials, including manuals, presentations, video guides, and FAQs .
- Continuously update training content to reflect new product enhancements and industry best practices .
Quality & Process Improvement
- Investigate technical failures and recurring faults; conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare detailed technical reports for internal management and customers .
- Collect, analyze, and provide structured feedback on customer issues and product performance to the R&D and product teams for continuous improvement .
- Manage service case records and spare parts inventory, ensuring proper documentation and traceability .
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Coordinate with local service partners to ensure service quality and compliance with work health and safety requirements .
- Communicate regularly with internal sales teams, engineering divisions, and management to support business development and project completion .
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related technical discipline .
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in technical service, field support, or a similar role within the solar PV, renewable energy, or power electronics industry.
- Proven experience in PV inverter repairs, commissioning, and system integration .
Technical Skills
- Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, energy storage systems (ESS), and electrical safety protocols .
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software (e.g., SCADA systems is a plus) .
- Familiarity with quality tools and root cause analysis methodologies .
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently .
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences .
- High level of commitment, responsiveness, and a customer-focused mindset .
Language & Travel
- Professional fluency in English is required. Chinese language (Mandarin) is a strong plus .
- Willingness to travel frequently within Malaysia and occasionally overseas (e.g., Singapore) as required.
