Perform independent review and assessment of AI use cases, solutions, and initiatives to ensure AI risks are appropriately identified, assessed, mitigated, and governed in accordance with the organisation's AI risk management framework and governance requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent oversight, review, and challenge of AI use cases, solutions, and initiatives to assess compliance with AI governance requirements and risk management expectations
- Review AI risk assessments, supporting documentation, and evidence provided by stakeholders to evaluate the adequacy of identified risks, controls, and mitigations
- Evaluate AI risks associated with third-party providers and solutions
- Assess the adequacy of guardrails, controls, and risk mitigation measures for AI solutions including those implemented on enterprise platforms and cloud ecosystems
- Provide recommendations on guardrails, control design and risk mitigation practices
- Document review outcomes, findings, risk issues, and recommendations, and support escalation of material concerns where appropriate
- Monitor remediation activities arising from reviews and track closure of findings and risk issues
- Maintain awareness of emerging AI risks, governance developments, industry practices, and regulatory expectations relevant to AI risk management
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- Experienced in AI/ML development, model risk management, technology risk, cybersecurity, AI risk review or related functions
- Experience operating within a regulated environment, preferably in financial services
Skills & Competencies
- Good understanding of AI and related concepts
- Good understanding of risk management practices
- Able to identify, assess, and challenge risks, controls, assumptions, and risk mitigation approaches
- Familiar with common AI platforms, cloud architectures, and guardrails, including Microsoft AI ecosystem, tools, services, and governance capabilities such as Azure AI Foundry, Microsoft Copilot Studio, M365 Copilot, and Power Platform
- Experience with development of advanced AI systems with guardrails would be highly advantageous
- Familiar with major cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS) and their related services would be preferable
- Able to translate technical platform controls into governance requirements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to document findings, recommendations, and review outcomes clearly and effectively
- Ability to engage constructively with stakeholders while maintaining an independent review perspective
- Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving environment
