About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AML & Risk Operations Team Lead to manage a team of investigation analysts. The successful candidate will oversee merchant risk analysis and due diligence operations, manage banking partner enquiries, and drive operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership capabilities combined with deep risk expertise in fraud, AML, and financial crime investigations.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Risk Analysts
- Allocate workloads, conduct performance reviews, and facilitate team development
Risk Operations Oversight
- Demonstrate in-depth understanding of different business models across Ant International
- Oversee bank enquiry related merchant risk analysis and due diligence covering fraud, ATO, money laundering, sales bans/restrictions, and other risk typologies
- Review and approve complex or escalated risk cases
Banking Partner Management
- Serve as escalation point for risk enquiries from banking partners
- Ensure timely and accurate responses to banking partner enquiries
Process Improvement & Feedback
- Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor team performance metrics and drive operational excellence
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or related field
- Minimum 6+ years in Banking/Financial Services (Risk, AML, Fraud, or TM investigation)
- At least 2+ years in a team lead or people management role
Skills & Competencies
- Solid understanding of AML/CFT regulations and risk frameworks & strong data analytical and data-driven skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven leadership ability to manage and develop a team
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Language
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
