- Execute day-to-day investment analytics activities, including data preparation, validation, analysis, financial and market research, and administrative support.
- Provide analytical support to the team and internal stakeholders for portfolio performance measurement, risk assessment, and investment reporting requirements.
- Prepare and validate daily and monthly enterprise dashboard analysis and supporting simulation analyses, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness.
- Support process improvement, automation, and analytics projects, collaborating across departments to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient reporting of investment data.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment Data Analysis
- Prepare daily and monthly enterprise dashboard analyses, including investment positions, unrealised gain/loss movements and portfolio performance.
- Perform detailed data validation, reconciliation, and exception checks for dashboards, simulations, and recurring analytics outputs, and follow up on data issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Analyse financial data, market events, and economic indicators to support team insights for performance monitoring and risk assessment.
- Apply business rules, report logic, and dashboard standards consistently, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal frameworks, and financial reporting standards.
- Maintain working papers, validation logs, methodology references, and control evidence to support data accuracy, integrity, and audit readiness.
Projects and Process improvement
- Support dashboard enhancement, standardisation, and automation initiatives through testing, process reviews, and documentation updates.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test scripts, compiling evidence, logging defects, and following up on issue resolution.
- Contribute to process improvement, knowledge sharing, and continuity arrangements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Malaysian citizen.
- Pass the Malay Language including an oral test at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or an equivalent qualification as recognized by the Government.
- Possess Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Investment, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering, Data Analytics or related field recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Data Analytics credentials are an added advantage.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in investment analytics, performance reporting, financial data analysis, fund accounting, or investment reporting within asset management, fund management, or financial institutions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES
- Sound understanding of investment instruments (e.g., equities, fixed income, private markets, derivatives), financial markets, portfolio performance metrics, risk and valuation concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), with experience in data visualization and automated reporting.
- Familiarity with VBA, SQL, Python, or other data tools is an advantage.
- Ability to analyse complex data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions with keen attention to detail.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with strong discipline and adaptability to new technologies.
- Able to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks effectively, including setting clear timelines.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Melayu.
