SUMMARY STATEMENT

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a driven professional looking to advance their career in a global consulting environment. The successful candidate will have a role based in Kuala Lumpur supporting our Asia and Global operations.

This role offers exposure to the asset management and wealth management industries, providing opportunities to develop strong analytical, commercial and consulting capabilities while working closely with experienced regional and global consultants. The role provides exposure to consulting projects across Asia Pacific and the opportunity to work closely with senior consultants and industry specialists.

The successful candidate will support a variety of projects and initiatives across our insights and consulting propositions in asset management and wealth management. Your work will primarily focus on Asia Pacific markets, allowing you to build industry knowledge and develop analytical and research expertise across these markets.

More experienced candidates may also have opportunities to take ownership of specific project components, contribute to client discussions and support the development of insights and thought leadership across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Success in this role will see the following achieved:

• Supporting consultants on project deliverables across Asia Pacific countries, including Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea
• Contributing to the execution of research programmes in asset management and wealth management, including gathering, organising and analysing data to support research outputs and insights
• Aggregating and analysing data from multiple sources to identify key client insights and support the development of clear and impactful presentations and reports
• Assisting in the preparation of charts, visualisations and presentation materials used in client engagements and internal discussions
• Collaborating with NMG specialists globally to support project delivery and ensure the application of global best practices
• Undertaking analysis using proprietary datasets to generate insights and support the development of industry perspectives and NMG thought leadership
• Supporting the development of industry knowledge by tracking market developments, industry trends and key themes within the asset management and wealth management sectors
• For more experienced candidates, taking ownership of specific components of projects or research programmes and contributing to the synthesis of insights for client deliverables
• For more experienced candidates, contributing to client discussions, stakeholder engagement and the development of thought leadership initiatives

YOUR EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualification with strong academic credentials (ideally in mathematics, finance, law, engineering or economics)
• 1-4 years of relevant experience, preferably within financial services, asset management, wealth management, consulting, research, analytics or a related field
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse data to identify key insights and solve problems effectively
• Highly motivated with strong intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn about the asset management and wealth management industries
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across global teams
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing
• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools would be an advantage
• Excellent English. Multi-language skills are an added advantage

The Global Insights Consulting Practice is our largest business-line globally and runs evidenced-based consulting programmes based on interviewing the leading industry experts and key decision makers annually, to analyse industry trends and competitive performance. The practice conducts more than 50 evidence-based Insights Consulting Programmes annually, covering life insurance, health insurance, wealth management, asset management and reinsurance, across all major financial services markets internationally.
