About The Team

As an AML Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effectiveness and compliance of the organization's anti-money laundering (AML) program. You will be responsible for conducting quality assurance reviews and assessments to identify any potential gaps or weaknesses in the AML processes and controls. Your role will play a critical part in mitigating risks associated with money laundering and terrorist financing activities

Job Description

  • Team Management: Supervising a team of transaction monitoring analysts, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure that they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Workflow Management: Managing the workflow of transaction monitoring activities, including assigning tasks, prioritizing alerts, and monitoring productivity to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance reviews of transaction monitoring alerts/cases and investigations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry best practices.
  • Risk Assessment: Assessing the risk associated with flagged transactions and determining the appropriate level of response and escalation based on established policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development: Providing ongoing training and development opportunities for transaction monitoring staff to enhance their skills and knowledge of emerging trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial crime detection.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborating with other departments, such as compliance, risk management, and legal, to communicate findings, address issues, and coordinate efforts in addressing potential risks and compliance-related matters.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards related to transaction monitoring and anti-money laundering (AML) efforts, and participating in regulatory examinations and audits as required.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of transaction monitoring activities, including documentation of alerts, investigations, and outcomes, and preparing reports for management, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong understanding of anti-money laundering laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of AML compliance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and transaction monitoring systems.
  • Experience in conducting quality assurance reviews or audits within the financial services industry.
  • Excellent technical skills i.e. (Microsoft Excel functions)
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional documentation and report-writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) are a plus.
