Job Description: API Developer Fund Accounting & Reporting
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintainRESTful APIsfor fund accounting, mutual fund operations, and reporting platforms
- Build APIs forfinancial reports generation, data extraction, reconciliation, and downstream consumption
- Integrate APIs withcore fund accounting systems, transfer agent systems, and third-party platforms
- Handlelarge-scale financial datarelated to NAV, AUM, corporate actions, transactions, and investor records
- Ensuredata accuracy, integrity, and consistencyacross all API-driven processes
- Collaborate withbusiness analysts, fund accounting teams, and product teamsto understand reporting and regulatory requirements
- Implementsecurity standardssuch as OAuth2, JWT, encryption, and role-based access control
- Optimize APIs forperformance, scalability, and high availability
- Participate incode reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities
- Supportproduction issues, root cause analysis, and continuous improvements
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- 58 years of experience inAPI developmentin aFinTech or financial services environment
- Strong hands-on experience withREST APIs(JSON/XML)
- Proficiency in one or more backend technologies:
- Java / Spring Boot
- .NET Core
- Node.js
- Strong experience withSQL and RDBMS(Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
- Exposure tobatch processing and report generation frameworks
- Experience withmicroservices architecture
- Knowledge ofAPI documentation tools(Swagger/OpenAPI)
- Familiarity withCI/CD pipelinesand version control tools (Git, Bitbucket)
Domain & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding ofFund Accounting concepts, including:
- Mutual Funds
- NAV calculation
- AUM
- Corporate actions
- Expense accruals
- Pricing and valuation
- Experience infinancial, regulatory, and investor reporting
- Knowledge ofSEBI / AMFI regulationsor similar global fund regulations is a plus
- Exposure totransfer agency operationsand financial reconciliations is highly desirable
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work closely withbusiness and finance stakeholders
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Good to Have
- Experience working withcloud platforms(AWS / Azure)
- Knowledge ofmessage queues(Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Experience withdata warehouses or reporting tools
- Exposure toAgile / Scrum methodologies
