Job Description
The Application & Monitoring Specialist is responsible for the health, administration, and continuous optimization of business-critical applications within AirAsia Aviation Management Services. This role acts as the primary guardian of system reliability, ensuring seamless integration with aviation operations and maintaining a robust proactive monitoring ecosystem.
1. Proactive Monitoring & System Health
Accountability for Monitoring Infrastructure:Own the health and workability of the proactive monitoring system to ensure 24/7 visibility into application and infrastructure performance.
MTTD Management: Ensure all systems and infrastructure connected to the monitoring environment achieve theMean Time to Detect (MTTD)within stipulated internal SLAs.
System Onboarding:Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding new applications and infrastructure into the monitoring environment, ensuring proper configuration and alerting thresholds.
Health Surveillance:Monitor application health, server performance, and service availability to identify bottlenecks before they impact operations.
2. Technical Support & Incident Management
Rapid Resolution:Provide high-tier technical support and troubleshoot complex system errors, performance issues, and access bottlenecks.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA):Perform deep-dive RCAs for critical incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
ITSM Discipline:Manage the lifecycle of incidents and service requests via platforms like ServiceNow or Jira, ensuring documentation is precise.
3. Lifecycle & Change Management
Deployment & Maintenance:Lead application rollouts, upgrades, and patching, ensuring version control and system stability.
Change Governance: Ensure all system changes are recorded through formal change management processes to mitigate operational risk.
User Access Control:Manage user roles and permissions in strict adherence to cybersecurity policies and audit standards.
4. Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
Technical Liaison:Coordinate with external vendors and internal ICT teams to align technical requirements and resolve software defects.
Project Support:
Assist project teams in gathering technical requirements, conducting UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and performing post-deployment validation.
Education: Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:3-5 years in application support or system administration. Experience in Aviation or Logistics is a significant advantage.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong SQL skills for querying, data validation, and reporting.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, Zabbix, or Prometheus) and defining MTTD metrics.
Familiarity with Windows/Linux server environments and API integrations.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, audit logs, and compliance.
