Job Description
As an Application and Support Engineer in the machine vision industry, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and support to customers using machine vision applications. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful integration, implementation, and troubleshooting of machine vision solutions in diverse industrial settings.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive business growth. This position requires a strong technical background in machine vision technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities.
You will be required to visit local customer sites for support, training, and installation. Training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support: Assist customers in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of machine vision systems.
- Application development: Collaborate with customers to understand their specific requirements and develop customized machine vision applications.
- System integration: Integrate machine vision solutions with existing equipment, machinery, and software systems.
- Troubleshooting and issue resolution: Identify and resolve technical issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.
- Project management: Manage application projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and meeting customer expectations.
- Customer training and education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate customers on machine vision systems.
- Documentation and reporting: Create user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and application notes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with sales, product marketing, R&D and customer support teams.
- Stay updated with industry trends: Continuously research and evaluate emerging machine vision technologies, tools, and techniques to maintain industry knowledge and provide innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Proven experience in machine vision technology will be a plus, including camera systems, image processing, pattern recognition, and optical inspection.
- Strong knowledge of machine vision software frameworks and libraries, such as OpenCV, Linux, HALCON, or Matrox Imaging Library (MIL).
- Experience in programming languages such as C++, C#, .Net, Python, or MATLAB for machine vision application development
- Familiarity with industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing processes is highly desirable.
