Decathlon Malaysia is looking for a driven individual to join our team, balancing innovative design with strong project management to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and compliant facilities.
Key Responsibilities
As our Architect, you will be crucial in overseeing physical business development projects from concept to completion, adhering to the Decathlon concept and local regulations.
- Building Design & Planning
- Conceptualize and develop detailed, sustainable designs for new stores or other physical touchpoints, modernizations, and relocations.
- Ensure both the interior and exterior designs align with the Decathlon identity, technical standards, and functionalities, while optimizing land usage and creating a comfortable environment.
- Design with operating costs, building investments, sustainable energy, and CO2 targets in mind.
- Understand and apply local planning and safety regulations.
- Prepare blueprints and technical drawings.
- Design Implementation & Project Management
- Manage the architectural realization of projects, including guiding tenders, negotiating design services, and producing detailed 2D technical drawings, 3D models, and illustrations.
- Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring alignment with goals, budgets, and timelines.
- Conduct regular site visits as the site supervisor to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Resolve technical issues and ensure work complies with the design intent and regulations.
- Ensure alignment with efficiency of the sqm principles (e.g., ratio sales area / GIA).
- Collaborate with global and local actors to implement green building design, urban mobility, and waste management initiatives.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with local authority processes, including UBBL and BOMBA requirements.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, specifications, and construction materials.
- Coordinate statutory submissions and process necessary permits.
- Prepare tender, construction, shop, and as-built drawings.
Profile
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience in architectural design and project management, preferably in commercial building design or retail/operational spaces.
Required Hard Skills & Expertise
- Commercial Building Design and Green Building Design.
- Architectural Project Management.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Expertise in Rendering software (e.g., Lumion, V-Ray) and Illustration tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong Cost Management, Negotiation, and Project Analysis skills.
- Understanding of UBBL and BOMBA requirements.
- Fluency in English.
