Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kota Kinabalu, responsible for driving sales performance and growth within the assigned territory. This role oversees branch and field sales activities, sets sales targets, and monitors performance against objectives for retail banking products, including savings, financing, and cards. The Area Sales Manager leads and coaches a team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality customer service and effective cross-selling. Daily tasks include analyzing market trends, identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with local communities and partners, and ensuring compliance with BSN policies and regulatory requirements. The role also involves preparing regular sales reports, forecasting, and collaborating with other departments to support marketing campaigns and operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Sales and business development skills, including territory management, target setting, and pipeline management.
  • Team leadership and people management abilities, such as coaching, performance monitoring, and motivation of sales staff.
  • Customer relationship management skills, including negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and service quality orientation.
  • Analytical and planning skills, covering sales data analysis, forecasting, and market opportunity assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly and collaborate across teams.
  • Experience in retail banking or financial services, preferably in deposits, financing, or cards products.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets within a multi-branch or regional environment.
  • High level of integrity, familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements, and commitment to ethical practices.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Kota Kinabalu and travel within the area as required.
