Job Description

The Wave is seeking an exceptional and emotionally intelligent Art Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position within our Creative Department and Art Studio, working alongside clinicians, educators, hospitality teams, and young people from around the world.

We are looking for a highly creative individual — someone who understands the transformative role of creativity in the lives of children, adolescents, and young adults.

The Role

This is a full-time, on-site Art Teacher role located in Kajang. The Art Teacher will bring together artistic excellence, emotional warmth, cultural curiosity, and the ability to inspire expression, confidence, and identity through art. They will facilitate and hold space for young people to foster artistic expression, encourage creativity, and contribute to the overall therapeutic goals of the program. Collaboration with the clinical team to support students personal and educational growth is also a key aspect of this role.

Essential Requirements

* Relevant degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience

* Strong portfolio or demonstrable art background

* Previous experience within education, youth work, arts leadership, or related environments

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Enhanced safeguarding and background disclosures suitable for working with young people

* Fluent spoken and written English

Desirable

* Experience within therapeutic, wellbeing, or mental health settings

* Experience in sustainable fashion, textile arts, or creative entrepreneurship

* Photography, videography, or digital media skills

* Event styling, installation, or experiential design experience
