Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain RPG programs on the IBM i (AS/400) platform to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
- Design and implement new features and functionalities within existing RPG applications.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of RPG programs.
- Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing to ensure the quality and functionality of the system.
- Provide technical support and maintenance for existing RPG applications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to RPG programs and systems.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to RPG development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an RPG Developer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of RPG IV, RPGLE, CLLE, and other related programming languages.
- Experience with IBM i (AS/400) system architecture and operations.
- Familiarity with databases such as DB2 for i.
- Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
