Job Title – Assistant Controlling Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant Controlling Manager will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence across regional operations. This role focuses on high-level financial planning, strategic analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to provide actionable insights that support management decision-making. You will oversee the budgeting process, monitor performance across multiple Business Units, and lead financial initiatives for new plant setups in SEA.
Job Description
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the preparation and management of the annual budget and comprehensive monthly rolling forecasts.
- Strategic Insights: Analyse financial data and performance metrics by strategic customer to deliver high-value insights to the executive team.
- Business Unit Partnership: Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analysis by Business Unit, acting as a strategic partner to operational leaders.
- Sales & Variance Monitoring: Closely monitor monthly sales forecasts against actual performance, collaborating with Business Units to investigate and resolve variances.
- Regional Collaboration: Serve as a central point for regional controlling, coordinating with various site accounting teams to synthesize information for sophisticated financial analysis.
- Capital Management: Oversee the CAPEX review and approval process to ensure alignment with corporate investment strategies.
- Operating Expenditure (OPEX) Control: Monitoring and analysing operating expenses to ensure alignment with budgetary targets, provide recommendations to optimize operational efficiency.
- Project Support & Expansion: Provide critical financial analysis for new Business Unit setups and Transfer Projects at the Malaysia Plant and other new regional facilities.
- Process Innovation: Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting through automation and the optimization of data tools.
- Ad-hoc Leadership: Execute special projects and ad-hoc financial assignments as directed by the superior.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related experience; a combined background in Finance and Business is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and controlling.
- AI & Data Science Skills: Proficiency in utilizing Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini) for data interpretation and analysis. Experience with Machine Learning (ML) basics for trend analysis or predictive financial modelling is a strong plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for complex data modelling and reporting are required.
- Systems Knowledge: Previous experience with SAP and Power BI is a significant advantage.
- Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing methodologies is highly desirable.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
