Are you a passionate and experienced journalist with a deep understanding of technology We are seeking an Assistant Editor to lead our lifestyle tech coverage. You'll be at the forefront of crafting sharp, trend-savvy stories that inform, inspire, and connect with our audience daily.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage content: Work closely with the Deputy Editor to oversee and review print pages, and clear stories from your team of reporters across all platforms.
- Create compelling stories: Pitch and develop cover stories that simplify complex tech topics. You'll write on-trend articles about the latest gadgets, lifestyle tech, and industry developments.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Review and test the newest tech products and report on breaking news in real-time, producing 23 accurate and engaging stories daily. You will also monitor website traffic to ensure timely content updates.
- Build industry connections: Attend events to network with industry insiders and contribute to emerging tech topics, including AI.
- Innovate on social media: Create engaging social content, such as carousels and reels.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of editorial or reporting experience.
- Education: A relevant degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Expertise: A strong passion for and deep knowledge of technology, trends, products, and industry terminology. You must have a proven ability to network with industry insiders.
- Skills: Excellent writing, editorial, and research skills, with a keen analytical ability. You should be a skilled interviewer with great interpersonal skills, agile time management, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
