Job Description – Assistant Finance Manager Job Purpose The Assistant Finance Manager will assist the Finance Manager in overseeing the full spectrum of finance operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, budgeting, management reporting, and compliance. The role ensures accurate and timely financial processes, provides analysis and process improvement to support business decisions and growth. Job Description Key Responsibilities 1. Accounts Receivable (AR) Assist end-to-end AR processes, including billing, collections, and reconciliations. Ensure invoices are accurate and issued on time in accordance with contractual terms. Monitor outstanding receivables and prepare aging reports; assist in following up on overdue accounts. Collaborate with operations and commercial teams to resolve billing queries. 2. Accounts Payable (AP) Perform financial review of verified invoices to ensure compliance with approved POs, agreements, and accounting policies prior to payment processing. Assist processing of vendor invoices and ensure timely payments. Assist in reconciling AP accounts and managing payment schedules. Help maintain vendor relationships and resolve queries efficiently. 3. Fixed Assets (FA) Management Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting asset lifecycle management. Assist capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations. Provide documentation for internal and external audits as needed. 4. Budgeting, Management Reporting & Analysis Assist in preparing monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Support development of budgets and periodic forecasts; help monitor actuals vs. budget. Perform variance analysis and provide operational insights for management review. Assist maintain chart of accounts and cost centres for accurate financial tracking. 5. Internal Control, Governance and Processes Maintain and strengthen internal controls across finance, capex, billing, and data centre operations to ensure effective financial governance. Perform process and risk reviews, identify control gaps, and support remediation actions. Assist with internal and external audits, financial policies, SOPs and process documentation. Drive initiatives to improve process efficiency, accuracy, and control effectiveness, and support continuous improvement. Support alignment with HQ finance process and ensure compliance with Malaysia tax requirements, including Withholding Tax and Service Tax. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. 3–5 years of relevant operational finance experience, ideally in technology, data centres, or engineering environments. Exposure to AR, AP, Fixed Assets, budgeting, and management reporting is preferred. Skills and Abilities Strong operational finance knowledge with attention to detail. Hands-on experience in AR, AP, Fixed Assets, and budgeting processes. Understanding of accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Good communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with multiple teams. Proactive, problem-solving mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Lead junior finance staff in daily operations and month-end closing activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Commercial, Procurement).
