About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to support the organisation's financial operations, reporting, and performance management. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting strategic business decisions. The ideal candidate is analytical, independent, and able to lead the finance function in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and review management accounts, financial statements, and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS), and company policies.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Analysis
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and rolling financial plans.
- Perform variance analysis, cost reviews, and financial modelling to support business decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve profitability, efficiency, and cost control.
Accounting Operations Oversight
- Supervise daily finance operations, including AP, AR, GL, and fixed assets.
- Ensure proper documentation, internal controls, and financial governance.
- Support improvements in cash flow management and working capital optimisation.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as operations, supply chain, sales, and HR to provide financial insights.
- Prepare presentations and financial reports for management meetings.
- Support strategic initiatives, projects, and process enhancements.
People Management & Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor junior finance staff.
- Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or professional qualification (ACCA/CPA/MICPA is a plus).
- Minimum 57 years of relevant experience, with at least 12 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (SAP/Oracle/NAV is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
- Able to work independently with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
