JOB SUMMARY
This role provides comprehensive legal advisory and support across XOX Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring effective management of legal risks, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. The role supports business operations by delivering practical and commercially sound legal solutions, while safeguarding the Group's legal and regulatory interests and enabling informed decision-making at management level across multiple entities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide legal advisory support to Group companies on operational matters, including but not limited to industrial relations, contract negotiations, product disclosures, and other business-related legal issues.
2. Oversee the preparation, drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial agreements, including vendor, service, partnership, and confidentiality agreements, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with business requirements.
3. Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian laws, regulations, and internal governance standards across all Group entities.
4. Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks affecting business operations.
5. Support resolution of disputes, claims, and other legal matters involving the Group or its subsidiaries.
6. Monitor regulatory developments and provide timely updates and recommendations to management.
7. Support corporate governance framework, internal policies, and compliance reporting across the Group.
8. Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel to ensure effective and cost-efficient legal support.
9. Perform any other duties, assignments, or ad-hoc tasks as may be assigned by the superior from time to time, including special projects as directed by the Managing Director.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Possesses strong organisational capabilities with a detail-oriented approach and effective time management skills, ensuring prioritisation of work and consistent achievement of deadlines.
2. Excellent knowledge and understanding of commercial, contract, corporate law and procedures.
3. Solid contract drafting and negotiation experience.
4. Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage.
5. Able to work independently with good interpersonal skills and professional work ethics.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills, strong ability to communicate effectively at all levels of employees and management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possesses Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in corporate or in-house legal environment.
