Provide support for actuarial valuation and reporting activities, ensuring submissions to internal stakeholders and regulators are accurate, timely, and compliant, while driving process enhancements and reinforcing strong governance.
1. Valuation & Reporting
- Perform monthly valuation processes, including data validation and reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Prepare monthly reserves and provide supporting analysis on movements and key drivers
- Support quarterly RBCT submissions to BNM, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Valuation Report (AVR) and other statutory disclosures
- Prepare and review regular actuarial reports for internal and regulatory purposes
2. Support toward Data Management & Systems & Experience Studies
- Maintain and validate valuation data, ensuring consistency, integrity, and proper documentation
- Support the enhancement and maintenance of valuation models, tools, and templates (e.g. FoxPro or equivalent systems)
- Update computation logic for new products, repricing exercises, and assumption changes
- Contribute to process automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk
- Support development, maintenance, and enhancement of Prophet models for valuation, projection, and regulatory reporting
- Perform model testing, validation, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards
3. Audit & Governance
- Support internal and external audits by preparing data files, reconciliations, and documentation
- Assist in addressing audit queries and ensure timely resolution of issues raised
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reflect current valuation processes and controls
- Ensure adherence to internal governance standards, regulatory guidelines, and actuarial best practices
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Progress toward actuarial professional qualification (e.g. SOA/IFoA)
- Senior Executive/ Assistant Manager: Minimum 2 years of relevant actuarial valuation experience in life insurance/takaful. Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for Assistant Manager level.
- Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory frameworks (RBCT) is an advantage
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with actuarial tools/programming (e.g. Prophet, FoxPro) is a plus
- Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
