Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing of billing, collection and policy payout transactions, while exercising judgement in managing exceptions and supporting escalations, in accordance with stipulated service standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements

The Job

  • Supervise and support the premium collection updates and processing of billing, collection and payout applications to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
  • Review and execute payouts for cash benefit, dividends, maturity, annuity and suspense in accordance with established procedures and controls. Analyse operational reports, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes and implement corrective or preventive actions. Prepare monthly ageing suspense reports for Team Lead's review.
  • Assist the Team Lead in monitoring billing and refund cycles, raising system issues or anomalies promptly.
  • Investigate and assess straightforward escalated cases and provide clear recommendations for the Team Lead approval.
  • Support the Team Lead in supervising junior team members, ensuring high work quality and consistency, and contributing to team capability building.
  • Handle enquiries from policyholders, financial representatives and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Bancassurance, New Business and external partners e.g. OCBC to ensure smooth issue resolution and a consistent customer experience.
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

Our Requirements

  • Diploma or University Degree
  • Preferably 3 to 4 years of experience in insurance or financial services operations
  • Good understanding of premium collection processes and payment channels
  • Ability to assess issues, exercise judgment, and handle straightforward escalations independently
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to perform quality reviews
  • Team-oriented and able to support knowledge sharing within the team
  • Ability to process requests timely and accurately
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric mindset
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • High level of integrity, accountability and ownership in work
  • Takes initiative in identifying improvements and adapting to change
