Assistant Manager, Business Analyst - Flights

About the Role

The Assistant Manager, Business Analyst plays a strategic role in driving the commercial performance and growth of the MOVE Flights business. This role goes beyond reporting and analysis to actively shape commercial decisions, influence pricing and distribution strategies, and support high-impact initiatives across the Flights vertical.

You will work closely with other LOBs, as well as senior stakeholders, to translate data into forward-looking insights and actionable strategies that improve revenue, conversion, and overall business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance analysis of flight routes and distribution channels, proactively identifying opportunities, risks, and trends to drive revenue and conversion improvements.

  • Lead deep-dive analysis on booking behavior, demand patterns, and commercial performance to support strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Act as a key partner to Commercial and Partnerships teams in shaping pricing, promotional, and distribution strategies, providing recommendations grounded in data and market insights.

  • Monitor competitor pricing, industry trends, and market dynamics, and provide strategic insights to maintain competitiveness and support long-term planning.

  • Identify seasonal demand patterns, peak travel periods, and major events, and recommend proactive strategies to capture demand and optimize performance.

  • Play an active role in weekly trading and business performance reviews by presenting insights, challenging assumptions, and recommending actions to senior stakeholders.

  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning, helping the business anticipate risks and opportunities.

  • Drive improvements in reporting frameworks, dashboards, and analytical processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and visibility of key metrics.

  • Lead or support cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at improving commercial performance, operational efficiency, or customer experience.

  • Translate complex data into clear narratives and presentations for senior stakeholders, enabling faster and more confident decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, Accountancy, or a related discipline.

  • Typically 4-6 years of experience in business analytics, commercial analysis, revenue management, e-commerce, OTA, or travel-related industries.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex or ambiguous business challenges into clear analytical approaches.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in SQL, dashboards, or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) preferred.

  • AI-enabled analytical capability, including the ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation, or analytics assistants) to:

    • accelerate data analysis and insight generation

    • improve reporting efficiency and workflow automation

    • support forecasting, scenario modelling, and decision-making

    • enhance storytelling and presentation development

  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to translate analysis into revenue, pricing, and strategic outcomes.

  • Experience using data and AI-assisted insights to identify patterns, opportunities, and risks across large datasets.

  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders and influence decisions in a cross-functional environment.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  • Highly proactive, self-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, data-driven, and evolving digital environment.

  • Experience in aviation, travel, digital platforms, marketplaces, or OTA ecosystems is an advantage.
