About the Job

Work closely with finance, actuarial and strategy team to ensure capital optimisation, regulatory compliance and financial health. Key responsibilities include monitoring performance, managing solvency and driving initiatives to improve in-force business profitability and achieve company targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate company Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) framework and reporting. Upon Management Action Trigger (MAT), propose and execute management actions, where applicable to protect the solvency position of the company.
  • Monitor asset and liability duration gap and liquidity ratio across all funds and report the results to Asset and Liability Committee.
  • Perform annual assessment and propose Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) and Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) across all the investment funds in the Company.
  • Monitor and analyse the policyholder's experience of the company (e.g. persistency, contribution holiday, medical claim and etc) regularly and share insights to the management and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various business units to drive initiatives to improve policyholder's experience and eventually improve the profitability and capital position of the company.
  • Explore area of enhancement in profitability and regulatory capital position, this includes ALM, management of medical portfolio, reinsurance and etc.
  • Recommend shareholder's dividend in accordance with Company's dividend policy and capital contingency plan and obtain approvals from Management, Board and regulator.
  • Assist Head of Business Finance and Chief Financial Officer in any other assignments as and when required.
  • Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

  • Possess a Bachelor in Statistics/ Mathematic/ Actuarial Studies / Finance & Accounting • Good progress towards obtaining professional qualifications in actuarial associations recognized by BNM.
  • Have minimum 2 years of working experience in actuarial work such as RBC reporting, IFRS17 reporting and experience study as well as Takaful business will be an advantage.
  • Have knowledge on own job discipline (Specialized) and related job disciplines (Intermediate).
  • A team player and collaborative.
  • Possess knowledge on process improvement, experience study, valuation approaches and methodologies, scenario planning and analysis.
  • Have high level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Take initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
