Job SummaryAs the Assistant Manager, Compliance, you will support the implementation and effective operation of the Company's corporate compliance framework. Reporting to the Head of Risk, Compliance & Sustainability, your mission is to ensure the Group adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. You will act as a key liaison between business units and regulators, providing the insights needed to maintain sound governance and transparent management decision-making.
Job ResponsibilitiesFramework Implementation: Plan and execute the enhancement of the corporate compliance framework, including the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with current laws and internal governance.
Compliance Monitoring: Track adherence to statutory, regulatory, and internal policy obligations across the Group and its subsidiaries, working closely with business units to identify and bridge gaps.
Documentation & Audit Readiness: Maintain accurate, up-to-date compliance registers and records to ensure the organization is always audit-ready for regulatory inspections.
Review & Analysis: Monitor compliance requirements to identify potential breaches; support the investigation, assessment, and root cause analysis of any compliance-related issues.
High-Level Reporting: Prepare clear and timely compliance reports and dashboards for Management, committees, and the Board to support informed oversight.
Remediation Management: Track the implementation of remedial and corrective actions (CAPA), following up with relevant departments to ensure issues are resolved sustainably.
Regulatory Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, auditors, and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and timely submission of regulatory filings.
Culture & Awareness: Design and facilitate internal programs to improve organizational awareness of compliance obligations and ethical standards.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, governance, internal audit, or Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Industry Background: Experience in Property Development, Construction, O&G, or GLC environments is highly advantageous.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian statutory requirements (e.g., Companies Act, Bursa requirements) and general corporate governance principles. Knowledge of the MACC Act Section 17A is an advantage but not the sole focus.
Technical Skills: Strong ability in drafting SOPs, conducting gap analyses, and managing compliance dashboards.
Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a solutions-oriented approach to resolving non-conformance.
Professional Certification: Certifications such as CeIO, CGRC, ICA, or ISO Internal Auditor are viewed as an added advantage.
