Job Brief
The Assistant Manager, Credit Control is responsible for overseeing credit control operations, monitoring customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and minimizing credit risk exposure.The role also involves managing reconciliation activities, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting process improvements to enhance collection efficiency and cash flow management.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage customer outstanding balances and aging reports.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Review and approve credit limits and credit terms in accordance with company policies.
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes, reconciliation issues, and payment discrepancies.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Sales, Operations, and Finance to resolve customer account matters.
- Prepare monthly impairment, credit control and collection performance reports for management review.
- Monitor unreconciled transactions and ensure timely resolution.
- Support audit requirements by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and collection efficiency.
- Supervise and guide credit control executives or officers in daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in system enhancement testing and implementation related to billing and collections.
Job Requirements
Education/Certifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in credit control, collections, or accounts receivable.
- Experience in managing corporate or reinsurance, insurance-related collections is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/SAP systems.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Leadership experience in supervising a team is preferred.
