Job Description

Job Scope

You will lead the Finance & Accounts function for our franchise network, with strong focus on collections (AR) and cash flow management. You will supervise 2 team members, ensure disciplined follow-up with franchisees, and maintain accurate reporting and compliance.

Chinese language is important because most of our franchisees/clients are Malaysian Chinese.

Key Responsibilities

Collections (AR) & Cash Flow Management (Core Focus)

  • Drive AR ageing control and ensure timely collection from franchisees
  • Follow up on outstanding payments, reconcile payment proof, and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecast and cash position updates for management
  • Monitor incoming/outgoing cash, prioritise payments, and flag risks early

Accounts & Daily Operations

  • Oversee AP/AR, invoicing, receipts, payment tracking, and documentation discipline
  • Review bank reconciliations and ensure proper filing/supporting documents
  • Ensure accurate records in accounting system and Excel/Google Sheets

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare weekly/monthly summaries: AR ageing, collection status, cash flow, expenses
  • Maintain clean audit trails and document control (softcopy filing, naming, versioning)
  • Improve reporting templates/dashboards for visibility and decision-making

Team Leadership (2 pax)

  • Supervise and coach 2 staff: task allocation, review, training, follow-up
  • Set timelines/checklists and ensure accuracy and on-time deliverables
  • Maintain SOPs and improve team productivity and work quality

Audit, Compliance & License Support

  • Coordinate documentation for audit, tax agent, and statutory submissions
  • Support license applications/renewals by compiling required documents and tracking progress
  • Coordinate follow-ups with internal teams, centres/franchisees, consultants, and authorities

Process Improvement Support

  • Improve SOPs, checklists, trackers to reduce errors and speed up closing/reporting
  • Support finance digitalisation (document control, reporting templates, trackers/system improvement)

Requirements

Must-Have

  • Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–8 years relevant experience (finance/accounts)
  • Strong experience in collections (AR), ageing control, and cash flow management
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot table, lookups, reconciliations)
  • Structured, responsible, strong follow-up, able to handle franchisee coordination
  • Able to communicate in Chinese (spoken & written) for franchisee support
  • English required; Malay is a plus for internal coordination

Advantage

  • Experience handling franchise/multi-branch/centre network billing & collection
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SQL Account)
  • Exposure to audit documentation and license/permit paperwork
  • Prior experience supervising a small team
