Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

This position would be heading the finance function.

(Please note that this role is a 1-year contract assignment based at our office in Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur)

Job Scope:

  • Responsible for the overall financial function.
  • Manage the financials independently, including and not limited to P&L, balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of monthly management reporting including monthly/quarterly consolidation worksheets and schedules for the operating units and ensuring robust and accurate presentation of financial and management information.
  • Responsible for the annual budget planning and monthly forecasting processes and active monitoring the actual performance against approved budgets/forecasts, coordinate and align with operations.
  • Working capital management and close liaison with the project teams in relation to billings and collections; as well as working with Group Treasury on funding planning and management.
  • Review of costing and progress of projects on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that company policies and practices are clearly defined, consistently followed by all relevant parties and continuously improved as and when needed.
  • Responsible for risk management and able to identify potential control weaknesses on an ongoing basis.
  • Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers and other statutory bodies/authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as audit, tax, Companies Act, customs, and other governing authorities.
  • Undertake special assignment, ad hoc assignment & related duties as and when necessary.
  • Managing and developing the team - this includes providing leadership and coaching to the reporting team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Operation Finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment and with auditing background with medium size audit firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting / ACCA / CPA or equivalent. Part qualification is also encouraged to apply.
  • Aggressive and accountable, and at the same time able to manage the stakeholders well.
  • Independent in managing the team, handling issues, continuously push for improvement, and other matters.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Good knowledge of ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Excellent communication skills and highly professional.
  • Strong technical knowledge and highly analytical.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload.
  • Attention to details.
  • Excellent team leader with persuasion/influencing skills.
  • Self-starter.
