The Opportunity
Incumbentmust be resourceful,independentand self-starter.He/Sheis accountable for the accuracy and timelinessonall related tasks inNewBusiness UnderwritingDepartment. Incumbent is expected to meet datelines and deliver the expected results. Any error or delay in processing willimpactcompanyreputation and service standard.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure applications are underwritten up to conferred authority and as per the agreed TAT
Ensure that underwriting decisions comply with the company underwriting guideline
Managing all aspects of underwriting process
Act as backup for other team members when needed
Counter signing applications which are referred by junior underwriters.
Involve and perform UAT and projects
Handle enquiries within the agreed TAT
Prepare reports and SOPs
Other administrative duties and assigned d uties as and when required by the HOD
Required Qualifications:
Degree holder in Science, Biomedical Science, Nursing and at least 3 to 5 years of related working experience.
Able to work long hours, public holidays and weekends as required
Familiarity with working with Oracle systems and Microsoft Office.
Solid knowledge of medical science, technology and terminology and their impact on mortality.
Sound knowledge of financial and other non-medical underwriting factors.
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to define, research and solve problems independently
A customer-centric mindset and effective relationship-building skills
Effective time management skills with ability to prioritize and work effectively under deadlines balancing published service times with an appropriate customer focus.
Able to work long hours, public holidays and weekends as required
