Assistant Manager Human Resources (HR)

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Compensation: MYR 8,000 10,000 per month

Experience Required: 810 years

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly capable and proactive Assistant Manager HR to manage the full spectrum of HR operations and employee lifecycle activities. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building structured processes, and is committed to creating a positive and engaging workplace culture.

You will play a key role in onboarding, employee relations, performance management, payroll coordination, HR compliance, and HRMS administration. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solution-focused, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across functions.

Key Responsibilities1. Induction & Orientation

  • Develop, update, and deliver induction and orientation materials.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions and ensure new employees transition smoothly into the organisation.

2. Onboarding Operations

  • Coordinate with IT for account creation, email setup, and laptop requests.
  • Manage all joining documentation, statutory forms, and personal file updates.
  • Facilitate bank account setup, biometric enrolment, and employee code generation.

3. Attendance & Leave Management

  • Maintain accurate leave, medical, and attendance records.
  • Track absenteeism and collate monthly attendance and timesheets.

4. Payroll Coordination

  • Prepare payroll input and liaise with the external payroll agency.
  • Address payroll queries raised by employees or the payroll provider.
  • Issue payslips, salary certificates, and other payroll-related documents.

5. Employee Engagement & Learning & Development

  • Plan and execute engagement events (festivals, birthdays, internal activities).
  • Coordinate training programs and maintain training records.
  • Support initiatives that drive employee motivation and satisfaction.

6. Grievance Handling

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns.
  • Define escalation paths and ensure timely resolution of grievances.

7. Performance Management & Rewards

  • Coordinate quarterly, mid-term, and annual performance reviews.
  • Manage self-assessment rollouts, review discussions, and rating consolidation.
  • Support the issuance and acceptance of increment & promotion letters.
  • Manage the company's recognition and rewards program.

8. Policy Implementation & Compliance

  • Ensure employees understand and adhere to company policies.
  • Support HR compliance checks and policy updates as required.

9. Exit Management & Attrition Control

  • Conduct stay/exit conversations and recommend retention strategies.
  • Manage full and final settlements, deactivation of IT/biometric access, and collection of company property.
  • Issue experience letters and ensure a seamless separation process.

10. HRMS Management

  • Create and manage employee profiles on the HRMS.
  • Update data throughout the employee lifecycle and deactivate accounts upon exit.

11. Reporting

  • Prepare periodic HR reports (attrition, headcount, employee issues, engagement inputs, etc.).
  • Provide data and insights to support leadership decisions.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred).
  • 810 years of HR experience, preferably with exposure to HR operations, engagement, and compliance.
