Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

Management Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate category project activities pertaining to market and consumer research with the country affiliates, external research agencies and Global research teams.

  2. Design and execute research projects that will adhere to the timeline and budget.

  3. Investigate and select vendors via RFP process for each research project to ensure quality research deliverables, manage vendor partners to ensure work is high quality, on time, and within budget.

  4. Responsible for the preparation, recommendation and approval of all research methodology including screener, questionnaire and protocols.

  5. Liaise with research agency partners in the relevant country, to ensure proper execution of research studies.

  6. Responsible for the review, analysis and interpretation of data generated by research partner.

  7. Translate tangible consumer insights into new business opportunities and potential white space for new business/products/brands, etc.

  8. Provide relevant information to guide the creative team in developing winning fragrances.

  9. Provide technically competent presentations to clients in support of research capabilities and Takasago fragrance submission.

  10. Manage multiple projects while maintaining high level quality in study design, questionnaires, execution, data analysis/interpretation and report writing.

  11. Serve as mentor to junior researchers, share existing knowledge and experience, leverage expertise to guide or direct junior researchers.

Functional Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Effectively design qualitative research to complement quantitative research programs.

  2. Synthesize disparate data from customised research, secondary research, and other mix of other sources to uncover insights, create a story to drive insights into action, and provide recommendation

  3. Communicate research findings to end clients or internal business units (cross-functional departments) and key stakeholders help socialize research to ensure learnings will be used throughout the organization

  4. Work with the Research head in developing innovative methods to present complex data sets as meaningful information for effective learning.

  5. Work closely with various departments to understand knowledge gaps across the business and use insights to drive strategy utilize an understanding of previously conducted research and learnings to recognize potential gaps and leverage existing insights as possible for future needs.

  6. Start customer engagement listen to business needs and be able to support and identify opportunities based on insight.

Database Management:

  1. Develop and maintain an effective database system for all research studies and information.

  2. Work proactively to ensure that, through various research methods, the Singapore and regional teams are kept au fait with consumer trends.

Information Exchange:

  1. Liaise with other group research or sensory resources, both internally and externally.

  2. Report on research project status monthly.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Communications Research, Statistics, Social Sciences, Business, Economics, Marketing or equivalent in years of similar experience.

  • Strong analytical, planning and execution skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Design and lead workshops and brainstorming sessions with cross-functional teams

  • Work independently with minimum supervision

  • Good interpersonal skills and team player

  • Proficient in English both oral and written

  • Knowledge of statistical software (XLSTAT, SPSS)

  • Microsoft Office application software

  • Minimum (5) years of solid relevant working experience in the fragrance industry (Managerial role)

  • Minimum (3) years of executive-level market research experience, preferably in the Fragrance, FMCG, or related industry.
