Main responsibilities:
To assist the State Manager in managing, monitoring and ensuring that all NRW and other CAPEX projects undertaken by PAAB are completed within the stipulated timeframe and in accordance with the design intent, project specifications and construction drawings before handover to the service licensee and to supervise PAAB's contracts.
Tasks:
- To review overall interfacing works between Civil & Structural (C&S) and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works.
- To review and monitor submissions for authority approvals and provide updates on their status.
- To monitor weekly and monthly progress reports, including overseeing the overall Construction Work Programme (CWP) and project cash flow.
- To review and verify, where required, progress claims and variation work submitted by the implementing agent, consultants and contractors.
- To assist the implementing agent, consultants and contractors in complying with authority matters, requirements and conditions.
- To review testing procedures and monitor commissioning works.
- To attend meetings and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), where required and report the project status to the Head of Department.
- To compile weekly and monthly schedules and prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- To inspect the quality of workmanship and materials and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- To attend site meetings with the implementing agent, consultants and contractors as requested by the superior.
- To ensure that all project activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, codes and authority requirements.
- To monitor and supervise pipe supply under PAAB's supply contracts.
- To prepare and submit relevant reports to the superior.
- To perform any other related duties and responsibilities as directed by the
- Management and/or immediate superior.
Requirements:
- Recognized Degree in Engineering or its equivalent;
- At least 10 years experience in construction especially in pipe replacement works.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint;
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia is required;
- Excellent report writing and presentation are essential;
- The candidate should possess good leadership attributes and be energetic;
- Being self-motivated, analytical, resourceful and having strong integrity are important qualities; and
- A good working attitude and willingness to travel are expected.
