Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Provide strategic and operational support in managing all Parliamentary Affairs functions to ensure effective coordination, timely responses, and accurate communication of MCMC's inputs on matters raised in Parliament. The role facilitates clear understanding among the Members of Parliament, ministries, and stakeholders on government initiatives under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA), contributing to enhanced policy transparency and stakeholder trust.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage and coordinate Parliamentary and State Legislative Assembly (DUN) questions related to communications and multimedia to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of responses.
  • Assign and monitor questions to relevant MCMC officers to ensure accountability, adherence to timelines, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Review, verify, and update answers to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with current developments, policies, and official positions.
  • Collaborate and liaise with Ministry officials and relevant internal divisions to develop, refine, and finalize comprehensive responses to Parliamentary and DUN questions.
  • Manage and oversee the collection and collation of supporting data, information, and reference materials to strengthen reporting and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate the preparation of forecast questions to anticipate parliamentary and DUN focus areas, enabling proactive planning and improved response readiness.
  • Ensure alignment and accuracy of responses related to Parliamentary budget allocations and financial matters.
  • Represent MCMC and coordinate attendance at Parliamentary sittings, coordination meetings, briefings, and workshops, ensuring effective participation and information flow.
  • Facilitate and manage requests for input and clarification from ministries and external stakeholders to ensure coherent and accurate communication.
  • Manage and maintain Portal Pinter Parlimen database by ensuring accurate data entry, validation, and system updates for effective information retrieval and analysis.
  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant issues, emerging trends, and topics to strengthen the depth and quality of parliamentary responses.
  • Engage and liaise with Members of Parliament and Senators to address constituency-related queries, fostering effective communication and trust.
  • Undertake any other duties related to parliamentary affairs as and when required to support overall departmental and organizational objectives.

Qualification And Relevant Experience

  • At least 4 - 6 years experience involving Government relations, inter-agency affairs and management of information/data
  • Minimum with any Bachelor's Degree with minimum CGPA of 3.00
  • Malaysian Citizen
