Role Overview
This role sits within the Project Management Office (ITeT–PMO) in the Technology Consulting team, with a strong focus on core banking system implementation and transformation programmes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering end-to-end core banking system implementation or replacement projects within banking environments, working closely with business, technology teams, and vendors.
This role requires hands-on project management experience in core banking platforms, ensuring successful delivery across planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Core Banking Programme Delivery (Critical Focus)
Lead or manage end-to-end core banking system implementation or replacement projects within banking environments.
Oversee project lifecycle from initiation, planning, execution to go-live and post-implementation support.
Work closely with core banking vendors and platforms such as Temenos Transact, Oracle Flexcube, Infosys Finacle, Silverlake SIBS, or similar systems.
Manage integration across core banking, channels, and downstream systems.
Project Management & PMO Governance
Establish and manage project governance, reporting, RAID logs, and delivery tracking.
Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies, with clear escalation and mitigation strategies.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including business users, IT, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to project timelines, scope, and quality standards.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Engage and manage stakeholders across all levels, including senior management.
Lead steering committee updates, workshops, and key project discussions.
Manage vendor performance and ensure alignment with contractual and delivery expectations.
Strategy & Advisory
Support requirements gathering and translate business needs into implementation plans.
Provide advisory on core banking transformation, implementation approach, and best practices.
Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities across banking systems and processes.
Requirements (Updated – Critical Criteria Highlighted)
Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related fields.
Mandatory Experience:
Proven hands-on project management experience in core banking system implementation or replacement within a banking environment
Experience with one or more core banking platforms such as:
Temenos Transact
Oracle Flexcube
Infosys Finacle
Silverlake SIBS
(or equivalent core banking systems)
Experience Level (relevant experiences):
Assistant Manager: 6–8 years
Strong experience in:
End-to-end project delivery in banking technology programmes
Stakeholder and vendor management
Managing complex system integrations
Exposure to IT/digital strategy or transformation initiatives is an advantage.
Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
