Job Description

Our client is looking for someone to manage purchasing operations, source and negotiate with suppliers, control budgets, ensure timely delivery, and lead the purchasing team while collaborating with Production, Warehouse, and Accounts to drive efficiency and cost savings.

Job Responsibilities

Plan and execute purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality compliance, and timely delivery.

Identify, assess, and negotiate with suppliers for materials, trims, accessories, and footwear.

Manage and track Purchase Orders (POs), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time fulfilment.

Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company SOPs, documentation standards, and audit requirements.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production and Warehouse teams to avoid shortages or excess stock.

Oversee purchasing budgets while supporting cost-saving and value-enhancement initiatives.

Assess supplier performance and maintain accurate, up-to-date vendor records.

Cultivate strong supplier relationships and proactively address delivery, quality, or supply issues.

Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, and Accounts teams to support operational needs.

Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and support in decision-making.

Qualifications & Experiences Needed

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.

Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia.

Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing roles.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments and with external vendors.

Skilled in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and other purchasing-related tools.

Able to operate independently with minimal supervision while handling multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines.

Experience in the apparel, accessories, and footwear sector is highly advantageous.

Familiarity with vendor management, cost negotiations, inventory planning, and contract handling is preferred.

Prior experience managing or mentoring junior purchasing staff is a plus.
