Job Description

Position Summary

Assistant Manager/Senior IT Business Analyst (Finance) acts as the bridge between the customers (which is the finance business users) and the solution development teams or vendors. This role is responsible for analyzing and refining business requirements to ensure delivery of the necessary technology solutions that support business operations.

In addition, the IT Business Analyst is accountable for providing Level 1 and Level 2 support for the applications and functional areas under his or her responsibility.

Working Location: Vinda SEA HQ (Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, next to Setia Alam)

You will play an important role to:

1. Day-to-Day Functional / Application Support

  • Act as Level 1 and Level 2 application support for Finance modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Management, Fixed Assets (FA), Costing (COST) and financial reporting.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of system components such as job schedulers, integrations, and reporting tools.
  • Provide support and standby coverage during finance month-end closing activities.
  • Collaborate with Level 1 (Service Desk) to build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Provide system training and functional guidance to end users and Level 1 (Service Desk) support teams.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues escalated from Level 1, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for issues requiring escalation and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support local application enhancements and ongoing system improvements across finance processes.
  • Assist the business in developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCP) related to finance systems.
  • Ensure stable and continuous support for end-to-end finance processes supported by implemented IT solutions.

2. Project Based / Change Management

  • Facilitate or support workshops and key stakeholder meetings to gather business requirements, perform as-is analysis, and understand business objectives, strategies, and user needs.
  • Support the development of business cases and participate in portfolio prioritization discussions.
  • Review and refine business requirements, functional specifications, and solution recommendations to ensure completeness and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with vendors to translate business requirements and use cases into clear and comprehensive solution specifications.
  • Support the implementation of to-be processes, including system configuration validation, user training, and change adoption activities.
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing effective solutions within a matrix organization environment.
  • Review application support incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide recommendations for continuous process and system improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Accounting and Finance/ Financial Analysis/Finance or any relevant discipline
  • At least 3 years working experience in the FMCG / IT consultant industry
  • Experience in application or process / transactional management tool such as: -

a) ERP Systems (Finance Modules): Oracle EBS / Oracle Fusion Financials

b) Accounts Payable / Invoice Automation : SAP Ariba, Oracle AP

c) Accounts Receivable / Billing Systems : Oracle AR

d) Financial Reporting & BI Tools : Oracle Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau

e) Tax & e-Invoicing Platforms (Malaysia relevant) : LHDN MyInvois integration platforms, SST reporting tools

  • Experience of analyzing and breaking down problems and information using a structured approach
  • Relational Database Management (i.e. Oracle SQL, PL/SQL Server, MySQL)
  • Ability to work in an international environment across multiple business needs
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and multiple activities, quickly shifting from one situation or task to another
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management and staff
  • Capable of transferring knowledge to existing business and IT staff
  • Ability to speak, write and read in Mandarin would be an added advantage
