Responsibilities
- Coordinate end-to-end transport activities to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Oversee transport scheduling and route planning to ensure optimal resource allocation, timely deliveries, and cost efficiency.
- Liaise closely with internal stakeholders, customers, warehouses, and transport vendors to ensure smooth operations, minimise delays, and resolve exceptions effectively.
- Lead, manage, and develop the transport team by providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor daily operations, adjust plans in response to operational changes, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and business priorities.
- Drive optimal vehicle utilisation through effective load planning, route optimisation, and capacity management.
- Ensure adequate manpower planning, skills development, and succession planning to build a competent, motivated, and safety-conscious team aligned with operational objectives.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by consistently meeting or exceeding agreed service levels (SLAs).
- Proactively manage customer expectations, address service issues promptly, and implement corrective actions to minimise disruptions.
Requirements
- Degree in Logistics, Transportatio n, Supply Chain and any relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years experience in transport operations, fleet management, or logistics, preferably within a distribution, 3PL, or supply chain environment.
- Hands-on experience managing daily transport operations, delivery performance, and vendor coordination.
- Strong knowledge of transport operations, route planning, scheduling, and fleet utilisation.
- Familiar with local statutory and regulatory requirements including JPJ and OSHA compliance.
- Experience in managing transport KPIs such as on-time delivery, vehicle utilisation, cost per trip, and service level adherence.
