Job Summary
The Junior Dealer will support the Treasury department in managing the Bank's liquidity, funding, and market risk positions. As a digital-first Islamic bank, the role involves executing Shariah-compliant money market and FX transactions, ensuring optimal yields on structural balances, and contributing to the development of data-driven treasury tools.
Job Responsibilities
Manage short-term funding:
- Analyse and forecast daily and weekly liquidity needs based on market conditions, cash flow projections, investment maturities and statutory requirements
- Develop and implement funding strategies through various instruments
- Monitor funding costs and market trends, recommending adjustments to the funding strategy as needed
Invest surplus fund
- Identify and execute short-term investment opportunities in low risk instruments such as overnight deposits, government bonds, or high grade corporate bonds
- Develop and implement investment guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with internal risk and return parameters
FX Trading
- Assist with the application of product approval for remittance business
- Setting up infrastructure to support remittance business
- Manage and monitor FX positions
Manage and monitor liquidity risk
- Implement robust liquidity risk management frameworks, including stress testing scenarios and contingency plans
- Monitor market volatility and potential liquidity disruptions, proactively adjusting strategies to mitigate risk
Manage relationships with counterparties
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, brokers, and other financial institutions in the money market
- Negotiate competitive pricing and terms for transactions
- Stay informed of market developments and regulatory changes, communicating relevant information to internal stakeholders
Oversee operations
- Ensure efficient execution of money market transactions through internal systems and platforms
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimise systems and integrate new technologies for improved efficiency and risk management
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- Preferably PPKM Licensed with 4-5 years of experience in money market or treasury functions
- Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments and risk management principles
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
