Position Overview
The Warehouse Systems & Applications Lead is a hybrid operational and technical role responsible for driving digital transformation initiatives in the warehouse. This position combines deep knowledge of warehouse operations with hands-on system development capabilities to design, build, and optimize warehouse management systems (WMS), RF/mobile applications, dashboards, and workflow automation tools.
The role will work closely with warehouse operations teams to translate operational workflows into scalable digital solutions, improve operational visibility, reduce manual processes, and enhance overall warehouse efficiency through automation and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
1. Warehouse Management System (WMS) Development
- Design, develop, and continuously improve the in-house Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Translate warehouse operational workflows into scalable system logic and applications
- Manage WMS enhancement roadmap, prioritization, and feature implementation
- Integrate WMS with ERP systems, RF/barcode solutions, automation equipment, and third-party platforms via APIs
- Standardize warehouse master data including SKU, bin locations, suppliers, and process flows
2. RF & Mobile Application Development
- Develop RF scanning applications for receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and replenishment processes
- Build mobile and tablet-compatible warehouse applications
- Implement barcode label printing and scanning validation workflows
- Ensure application reliability in warehouse environments with handheld devices and unstable connectivity
3. Dashboard & Data Management
- Consolidate fragmented operational data into a centralized and standardized data layer
- Develop real-time dashboards for operational KPIs such as productivity, SLA tracking, and inventory accuracy
- Create management reporting tools and warehouse analytics dashboards
- Build labor productivity monitoring and throughput analysis tools using platforms such as Power BI, SQL, Python, AppSheet, or equivalent technologies
4. Operational Process Improvement
- Analyse warehouse bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies
- Design and implement system-driven process improvements
- Standardize warehouse picking methodologies including wave, zone, batch, and single-order picking
- Improve replenishment logic, inventory reconciliation, and cycle count workflows
- Reduce dependency on manual and paper-based processes through automation
5. Workflow Automation & Integration
- Develop internal workflow automation tools and operational applications
- Build low-code/no-code applications using platforms such as AppSheet, Lark, or similar
- Automate repetitive reporting and operational data update processes
- Support integration between warehouse systems and automation equipment such as conveyors and sorters
Requirements
- Educational & Professional Background
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Minimum experience in warehouse operations, WMS implementation, systems development, or logistics technology environments
- Warehouse Operations Knowledge
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and WMS workflows
- Experience in inbound receiving, putaway, picking, packing, replenishment, and cycle counting
- Familiarity with inventory control practices and warehouse KPIs
- Knowledge of warehouse picking strategies such as wave, zone, batch, and cluster picking
- Experience with enterprise WMS platforms such as Manhattan WMS, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS, or equivalent is an advantage
- Technical Skills
- Candidates should possess at least 3–4 of the following technical competencies: - SQL and database querying - Database design and relational schema management - API integration (REST APIs, JSON, webhooks) - Dashboard and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) - Low-code/no-code app development platforms (AppSheet, Glide, Lark Base, etc.) - Python and/or JavaScript programming - RF/barcode scanning workflow development or configuration
- Additional Advantageous Skills
- Frontend development experience using React or similar frameworks
- Basic cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- ERP integration experience (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, etc.)
- Exposure to warehouse automation technologies such as conveyors, sorters, or AGVs
