Automotive Industries Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary company under Toyota Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Purchasing Executive to join our team. The incumbent of this role will be responsible for ensuring company purchases are made with optimum efficiency and are in accordance with the company procedures.
Job Description
- Oversee daily purchasing activities including RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier follow-ups.
- Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, delivery, and service metrics.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to support production or operational requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning/warehouse teams to avoid shortages or excess.
- Maintain procurement documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Support new supplier sourcing, qualification and onboarding processes
- Lead and mentor purchasing team members, ensuring workload distribution and performance management.
- Ensure on time & complete monthly MM closing including production order settlement and cost monitoring.
- Monitor production planning against customer demand, capacity planning includes scheduling and inventory control.
Job Requirements
- Possess a recognized Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Accounting or similar.
- More than 2 years of experience in middle managerial position that is preferably related to purchasing, planning and/or Inventory management & operation.
- More than 5 years in manufacturing sector.
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) SAP system and have knowledge in inventory management.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, analytical thinking with cost control orientation and effective communication and cross-functional coordination.
