Details Job description
- Assist in performing inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to specified procedures and quality plans.
- Help in developing, maintaining, and updating quality-related documentation, including inspection reports/checklists, test plans, test cases, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Document inspection outcomes, test results, and non-conformities accurately in designated systems (e.g., SAP, internal databases) and daily performance records.
- Generate and submit reports on quality metrics, defect trends, and corrective/preventive actions to the QA team and supervisors.
- Assist in identifying, tracking, and reporting product or process defects and deviations.
- Communicate findings and collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to facilitate root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure non-conforming products are properly segregated and controlled until issues are resolved.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process optimization and defect prevention.
- Support the implementation of quality improvement projects.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the QA department and ensure calibrated instruments are used for inspection.
- Generate and maintain inspection reports and other quality-related documentation.
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency to relevant stakeholders (production, engineering, QA team, supervisors).
- Lead the investigation on root cause analysis of complex quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformance reports.
- Initiate and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and tracking their effectiveness.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends in product quality or defects, and recommend/implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, logistics, etc) to embed quality throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Assist in handling customer technical inquiries and providing detailed information related to product quality or standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- High passion for quality assurance and have a strong willingness to learn new processes, technologies, and standards.
- Proficiency in using various inspection and measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges, etc).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail even minor flaws or inconsistencies and a high passion for quality.
- Good interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication skills to articulate findings and collaborate with colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Solid knowledge of quality control concepts, methodologies, and testing techniques.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, to lead in troubleshooting and investigate with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience in conducting internal audits and driving CAPA processes through 8D method or any other equivalent QC tools.
- Familiarize with and strictly comply with the company's Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001) and relevant industry regulations
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
- Ability to work effectively as a part of team and independently with minimal supervision and lead tasks.
- Proactive attitude towards identifying and resolving issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment (adapt to changing priorities).
Typical Experience
- Zero to three (0-3) years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or quality control environment.
Typical Education
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering) or other related Science/Technology fields.
- Applicants with a strong academic record (e.g., CGPA 2.80 and above) are preferred.
