Are you an experienced tax professional ready to take on a regional role with greater exposure and leadership opportunities We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Tax Manager to join our growing finance team.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and ensure timely compliance with Malaysia corporate tax deadlines and statutory requirements, minimizing tax risks and penalties.
• Manage and coordinate the tax provision and compliance process across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
• Support the preparation and review of accounting, tax, and financial reports in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Provide comprehensive tax advisory and compliance support in accordance with Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
• Work closely with statutory auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes across Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia.
• Liaise with tax authorities including LHDN, IRAS, and ATO, as well as external auditors, to resolve tax-related matters efficiently.
• Review tax computations, expense analyses, and corporate tax filings for Malaysia while supporting regional tax matters for Singapore and Australia.
• Participate in regional tax compliance initiatives and process improvement projects to enhance reporting consistency and operational efficiency.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and management on tax planning, reporting, and advisory matters.
• Lead or support ad-hoc finance and tax-related projects assigned by management.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with regional exposure and experience handling corporate tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations including corporate tax, SST, and tax reporting requirements. Exposure to Singapore and Australia tax frameworks is highly advantageous.
• Experience in managing audits, tax queries, and liaising with regulatory authorities.
• Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
