POSITION: Assistant Vice President
Job Purpose:
The role aids in strategic leadership and oversight for initiatives that advance member benefit schemes. The incumbent also focuses on designing and implementing high-impact strategic initiatives that align with organisational priorities, facilitating policy development, and fostering collaborations with internal and external stakeholders including Malaysian Armed Forces community.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support in Strategic Leadership
- Assist the VP in translating organizational strategies into actionable initiatives that enhance member benefits.
- Collaborate with the Vice President and Head of Department to implement departmental objectives that align with broader organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Foster Operational Excellence
- Facilitate effective stakeholder collaboration to strengthen workflows and ensure high-quality service delivery for member-related activities.
- Support the management of initiatives that enhance member financial resilience and welfare through strategic programs.
- Assist in Project and Program Management
- Support the execution of major strategic projects related to member benefit schemes and initiatives that align with the organisation's mission and vision to enhance overall performance.
- Monitor project milestones within strategic initiatives, track progress and report updates to the VP, HOD and another stakeholder.
- Enforce Compliance & Conduct Risk Assessments
- Support compliance efforts to ensure initiatives adhere to relevant regulations and internal policies regarding member benefits and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in conducting comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential operational and technological vulnerabilities related to strategic projects, aiding in developing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Maintain Controls & Safeguards
- Assist in the establishment, monitoring, and periodic review of controls and safeguards designed to protect the integrity and success of strategic initiatives.
- Oversee Data & Analytics Activities
- Support data collection and analysis efforts to provide insights that inform decision-making and strategic planning surrounding member engagement and benefits.
- Performance & Records Management
- Assist in managing the documentation related to strategic initiatives and scheme design, ensuring proper recording.
- Collaborate in tracking, analyzing and reporting on key performance metrics related to strategic initiatives.
- Leadership & Team Support
- Support the VP and team members in fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and high performance within the department.
- Collaborate with the other AVP to ensure the alignment of operational activities and strategic initiatives.
- Administrative Duties
- Assist in the preparation and review of board papers, departmental reports, strategic analysis and documentation within prescribed timelines.
- Support compliance with training requirements and assist in budget management for departmental initiatives.
- Support for Ad Hoc & Organizational Needs
- Undertake additional responsibilities or special projects as assigned by the VP or HOD to support departmental achievement and organizational objectives, particularly those related to strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or equivalent professional qualifications in related field.
- MBA, CFP, IFP or CIPRP holder is an added advantage.
- Minimum 10 years experience in managing a team, preferably in operations, payroll environments, customer service/customer relation management and budget related functions.
- Working exposure in pension fund and strong knowledge on Malaysian Armed Forces environment primarily in its schemes and services are added advantage.
- Proven experience in project management involving internal and external parties or stakeholders.
- Knowledge in risk management and pension fund operation is considered beneficial.
