About the Role

We're looking for a fundamental equity analyst to join our Public Markets team, focused on the global technology & semiconductor ecosystem. Experience with South Korea, Taiwan, and/or Malaysia's electrical & electronics (E&E) sector is a strong advantage.

In this role, you will:

Drive Investment Insights: Research sectors, analyse trends, engage management & present actionable insights.

Model & Value: Build financial models, conduct valuations & support portfolio decisions.

Apply Risk-Reward Philosophy: Contribute to portfolio construction by adhering to risk-adjusted investment decisions that aim to deliver relative value.

Collaborate Across Stakeholders: Partner with key decision-making stakeholders on semiconductor initiatives.

This role is for someone analytically rigorous, intellectually curious & motivated to deepen their craft - including through professional qualifications such as CFA, CAIA, CIPM, or CQF. Candidates with existing qualifications are an advantage.

Job Description

Investment Analysis

1. Conduct fundamental research on global technology sectors and listed companies; prior exposure to South Korea, Taiwan, and/or Malaysia semiconductors, technology hardware, or industrials is preferred.
2. Maintain proprietary and third-party data sources on global semiconductor supply chain, macro trends to generate actionable insights. Engage with company management and supply-chain participants for company-specific research, including travel for meetings and site visits.
3. Build and maintain financial and quantitative models, conduct valuation analysis (e.g., DCF, relative valuation, scenario analysis), and present investment recommendations backed by sound thesis. Update and maintain coverage universe target prices and valuation sheets.
4. Pursue and maintain relevant investment-related professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, CIPM, CAIA, CQF); candidates with existing qualifications are an advantage.

Investment Strategy

1. Align with the Public Markets investment philosophy on risk-adjusted portfolio construction.
2. Contribute research-driven investment views to support top-down country and sector allocation decisions, as well as bottom-up stock.
3. Collaborate with external fund management team to assess and evaluate potential fund investments opportunities.
4. Support portfolio operations and administration, including coordination with Finance, Compliance, and Risk teams.

Stakeholder Management

1. Collaborate cross-functionally on semiconductor initiatives, including Malaysia E&E sector research; coordinate site visits and engagements
2. Liaise with external stakeholders on semiconductor policy matters, in strict adherence to information barriers and confidentiality requirements.
