ROLE PURPOSE
Support the development, review and implementation of prudential policies that promote the safety, soundness and resilience of financial institutions supervised by BNM. The role involves research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, stakeholder coordination, and practical contributions to policy formulation and execution under the guidance of managers and other senior leadership.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Analyst
- Undertake research in more complex areas of prudential policies, including cross-sectoral dimensions to strengthen policy assessment
- Establish and evaluate options for the resolution of policy queries and issues that may be complex and cross cutting - spanning across multiple regulatory frameworks or involve significant stakeholder considerations to improve regulatory coherence and effectivenes
- Lead policy outcomes for assigned components of policy development work, contribute meaningfully and actively to discussions on policy formulation as well as serving as technical reference point

Associate Analyst
- Undertake research and provide input on appropriate prudential policies to promote sound financial and business practices (including risk management practices) as well as effective oversight functions within financial institution
- Support implementation of prudential regulatory frameworks by assisting in developing policies/ guidance materials, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis, coordinating with internal teams, reviewing feedback and data prior to policy implementation and to assess post-implementation effectiveness.
- Assist in establishing options for the resolution of policy issues relating to the prudential regulatory framework to improve regulatory clarity.
- Assist in the drafting of responses to policy queries, prudential regulations and policies and other policy pronouncements to ensure clear articulation of regulatory intent
- Monitor and identify domestic/international regulatory developments and financial sector trends, as well as assess their relevance to prudential regulatory frameworks; and inform appropriate policy responses.
- Coordinate work and contribute towards effective collaboration with internal/external stakeholders such as regional working groups and other regulators on relevant policy initiatives to ensure policy coherence.
- Support secretariat responsibilities for internal and external policy forums to ensure effective policy engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Finance, Operational Research, Law or relevant discipline. Relevant professional qualifications would be an added advantage.
- Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of working experience. Working experience in financial regulation/supervision or financial industry would be an added advantage.
