Who we are: CIO Office
The CIO Office was established to institutionalize performance management and stewardship of the Portfolio as well as enhance capabilities of the Investments Division in Khazanah. There are 6 units within the CIO Office:
- Performance Reporting and Analytics (PRA),
- Investment Strategy & Asset Allocation (ISAA),
- Investments Monitoring (IM)
- Stewardship,
- Investments Compliance; and
- Division Administrative Support.
The CIO Office is the strategic and operational engine room of the Investments Division in Khazanah.
Core Objectives:
Following the digital and data initiatives within the organization, and upcoming AI Data Roadmap, the business need for specialists increased to manage data flows, mapping, and governance across multiple systems to continuously facilitate data-driven decision-making in an evolving and dynamic environment, for asset owners and investment managers.

- Functional understanding of investment concepts with deep appreciation of investment performance measurements to be able to support the unit effectively to meet the business data requests and analysis
- Adept with data and transforming it into information including visuals, analysis to help answer business questions and attribute them to drivers of performance - for structured and unstructured data
- Support initiatives to drive development of data-driven Investment strategies and collaborating with respective asset classes for portfolio construction and investment risk management
- The role will also develop and integrate GenAI-based tools and workflows to extract information from text and reports, automate monitoring and improve portfolio understanding and explainability.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and maintain a robust portfolio construction and risk analytics platform used to monitor and manage a complex investment portfolio.
- Model investment programs using a variety of portfolio construction and risk models and support monitoring.
- Run various stress tests and scenarios to support portfolio construction and development of investment strategies/overlays.
- Transforming, structuring, organizing, integrating and mapping data from various sources to support investments business needs for the CIO Office Units in terms of portfolio performance and risk management.
- Aggregate and integrate data from multiple data sources with the aim of transforming data into usable, consumable formats.
- Identify linkages and commonalities in the investments data and the commentary which supports the analysis.
- Support the CIO Office through collaborating with other teams in the organization to maintain the ongoing monitoring of risk controls related to enterprise risk, investment risk, and Asset Liability Management (ALM).
- Maintain agility to pivot responsibilities as priorities shift in a complex and dynamic environment within CIO Office.
What are the minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Statistics or Mathematical Discipline
- FRM / CFA / CIPM is a must
- Proficient in leveraging on platforms, Bloomberg, Advanced Excel Skills, Microsoft Office, ability to develop VBA Macros
- Knowledge of statistics, databases and programming languages (Python, VBA, R, et cetera)
- Two (2) to eight (8) years of relevant experience
- Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
