Job Summary
Support the Lead, Commercialisation Portfolio in delivering the Structured Commercialisation Accelerator (SCA) and Extended SCA programmes. The role manages an assigned portfolio of funded companies, coordinating commercialisation interventions, monitoring progress, engaging ecosystem partners and supporting companies in achieving commercial, investment and market access outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of funded companies throughout their commercialisation journey and monitor performance against agreed milestones and KPIs.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews, identify intervention needs and maintain accurate portfolio records and performance dashboards.
- Support companies in commercialisation planning, business model refinement, product-market validation, customer discovery, market entry, go-to-market planning and commercial partnerships.
- Coordinate and facilitate commercialisation interventions including coaching, mentoring, technical advisory, investor readiness, market access, corporate matching, regulatory advisory, certification support and business development.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and follow up on agreed action plans to ensure timely progress.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with government agencies, corporates, industry partners, universities, research institutions, investors, venture capital firms, mentors and consultants.
- Support the delivery of SCA and Extended SCA activities, including Demo Days, investor sessions, corporate engagements, workshops, site visits and pitching events.
- Monitor commercialisation outcomes such as revenue, partnerships, pilots and investment, and prepare portfolio reports and management updates.
- Ensure programme implementation complies with funding guidelines, contractual obligations, reporting requirements and governance standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve programme delivery, commercialisation interventions and portfolio management processes, while capturing lessons learnt and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Innovation Management, Technology, Engineering, Science, Entrepreneurship or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in technology commercialisation, startup ecosystems, innovation programmes, accelerators/incubators, business development, venture building, project management, technology transfer or innovation consulting.
- Experience working with startups, researchers or SMEs will be an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of technology commercialisation pathways, market validation, customer discovery and business growth.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple companies or projects while tracking milestones, KPIs and outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder and ecosystem management skills, with the ability to engage founders, investors, corporates, government agencies, universities and other ecosystem partners.
- Good programme and project management capabilities, including coordinating multiple interventions, timelines and deliverables.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to track commercialisation KPIs and use data to support decision-making.
- Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken.
- Professional certification in project management or commercialisation will be an advantage.
